    W.R. Basham Discusses Presidential Travel as Obama and Bush Travel Together to Mandela’s Funeral

     

    The memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela poses critical security risks for the countless Heads of State and other government officials from around the world in attendance. However, CCG Partner and former Director of the U.S. Secret Service W. Ralph Basham sees a number of favorable conditions that distinguish this trip to similar past situations. 

    In his conversation with Reuters, Basham describes a number of factors that, from a security standpoint, weather some of the concerns that typically accompany these short-notice trips.
