David Carey

David Carey is an experienced security, intelligence, and business leader with a distinguished career that spans the public and private spheres. Most recently in government, Mr. Carey served as the Executive Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. In this role, Mr. Carey oversaw the CIA’s strategic planning, budgetary, procurement, financial, logistics and research and development activities as well as day to day operations, and was recognized for obtaining support from the Administration and Congress for budget increases for the first time in a decade. Prior to that role, Mr. Carey served in several other positions at the CIA, including as Executive Director of the Office of Near Eastern and South Asian Analysis. Following his time at the CIA, Mr. Carey has held several private sector positions of note, including as Vice President, Information Assurance at Oracle Corporation, Executive Director of Blackbird Technologies, and as an independent business development and strategic planning consultant to multiple firms in the defense and intelligence technology sectors.
