    CCG Principal Receives Award For Excellence In Border Security Initiatives

    PHOENIX, AZ – Chief Ronald S. Colburn, former National Deputy Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol and current Principal at Command Consulting Group was presented Raytheon Corporation’s prestigious Award for Excellence in Border Security Initiatives yesterday at the 2012 Border Security Expo in Phoenix, Arizona. The award recognizes Chief Colburn’s unparalleled contributions to the field of border security, where he served for over 30 years in critical positions with U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

    Chief Colburn is widely acknowledged to have one of the most storied backgrounds in border security in the world today. Throughout his long career, Chief Colburn has displayed an unmatched dedication to and passion for law enforcement at a time of unprecedented focus on America’s border security initiatives. Chief Colburn has served in key leadership roles confronting some of the most difficult challenges faced by CBP: serving as Deputy Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, as Director of Law Enforcement of the Homeland Security Council, and helping to found the U.S. Border Patrol Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (BORTAC).

    Chief Colburn has played a historic role in the conception and modernization of the current homeland security enterprise, and he continues to contribute to the border security community today. He currently serves as treasurer of the Border Patrol Foundation, which provides resources to families of fallen Border Patrol Agents, and as a principal with Command Consulting Group, where he provides advisory services on implementation of technological and infrastructure solutions on border security issues to a range of clients.

    Chief Colburn joins the esteemed list of award recipients, which includes co-recipient William Bratton, former Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, CBP Chief Patrol Agent (ret.) Randy Hill, and other prominent members of the border security community.
